Program Support Specialist
Feeding Medina County is a 501(c)(3) that focuses on addressing the issue of hunger and food insecurity in a number of ways. Major efforts are directed at serving the most vulnerable of our population, children and elderly. We serve to fill the gap of reducing hunger across all of Medina County, making us the major provider of addressing food insecurity countywide.
We’re currently seeking a multi-tasking Program Support Specialist with a passion for community and non-profits. They should be ready to assist with organization representation, event planning, volunteer coordination and training, donor relations, plus marketing and website content creation and social media.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Develop and execute event plans and logistics for community outreach and events
• Work within event budgets and timelines
• Represent the organization at events and through working with local business and donor relations
• Coordinate and train volunteers
• Create letters and correspondences on behalf of the organization
• Assist in writing content and taking photos/videos for marketing materials, website content, press and various social media platforms
• Build meaningful connections and encourage community members and organizations to take action in supporting the mission
• Participate in strategy meetings and assists in special projects
• Availability for occasional evening and weekend work for events
• Share front desk and general office function responsibilities, including but not limited to answering phones, greeting guests, sorting mail, donation pick-ups and food distributions
• Assist organization and Executive Director in other areas as needed for the success of the organization
Work Hours: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm, 30 hours a week adjusting office hours as needed for evening and weekend events
Seeking Candidates with:
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required, an associate’s degree is a plus
• 2-3 years of related experience
• Demonstrated experience planning events, including logistics and supplies
• Organizing and training volunteers experience is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Experience with design software is a strong plus
• Previous experience managing social media platforms
• Ability to create content and take photos/videos for various marketing usage
• Proficiency to professionally communicate with all levels inside and outside of the organization, including in-person, verbal, electronic and written and including public speaking
• Efficient with prioritizing and multi-tasking, including being productive while handling re-directions and interruptions based upon organizational needs
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
• Possess a high attention to detail
• Ability to remain organized with and keep track of multiple sources of information and data

• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds due to the nature of handling event supplies and assisting with food distribution
• Must be flexible
• Possess a strong sense of urgency, follow-through and diligence, including meeting deadlines
• Possess strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Ability to show compassion and have a desire to help people who struggle with issues related to low income and poverty
